WHO IS THIS FOR

You don’t need to arrive as a breathwork practitioner.

Breath of Life is for people drawn to working with the breath — whether you already work with people, want to bring breath into an existing practice, or are beginning something new.

Yoga teachers · psychotherapists · counsellors · coaches · bodyworkers · somatic practitioners · movement & wellbeing professionals · existing breathwork practitioners — and those drawn to this work.

No particular background is required. What matters is curiosity, a willingness to practise, and an openness to self-inquiry.

  • No. You don’t need to already be a breathwork practitioner or work within the wellbeing field.

We’re interested in people with a genuine curiosity about the breath, a willingness to practise, and an openness to learning about themselves alongside learning how to work with others.

If you already work as a therapist, coach, yoga teacher, bodyworker, breathwork practitioner or within another related field, the training can also support you to bring breathwork into your existing practice.

  • Breath of Life is an experiential training. Alongside learning techniques and theory, you’ll be invited into your own practice, self-inquiry, reflection, giving and receiving feedback, and working closely with others.

It may not be the right training if you’re looking simply to learn a breathing technique or gain a qualification without engaging in the personal and relational aspects of becoming a facilitator.

This is one reason we begin with an application. It gives us an opportunity to learn a little about you and consider whether the training feels like the right fit — both for you and for the group.

  • We understand that life happens. You can miss up to two live modules across the eight-month training, with recordings available so you can catch up on the teaching you’ve missed.

Because much of the learning is experiential and happens through practice, discussion and being part of the group, regular live attendance is an important part of Breath of Life.

The four-day in-person intensive is a core part of the training and needs to be attended in full.

  • The Manchester intensive is where much of the online learning comes into practice.

Across four days, you’ll facilitate and receive breathwork, explore different ways of working with the breath, practise working with others and develop your confidence as a facilitator.

We also have more space to explore aspects of the work that benefit from being together in person, including touch, sound, communication, observation, feedback and the subtleties of holding space.

It’s an opportunity to learn, practise, experience the work for yourself and spend time together as a group.

  • Breath of Life is a substantial training and learning continues between the live sessions.

There is required reading throughout the eight months, alongside your own breath practice and self-inquiry. As the training progresses, you’ll also undertake practice sessions and case studies, including experience of working both 1:1 and with groups.

We’ll give you a clear structure throughout the course so you know what is expected and what to focus on at each stage.

  • Breath of Life is designed to prepare you to facilitate breathwork responsibly in 1:1 and group settings, including Conscious Connected Breathing alongside a range of other breath practices.

You’ll develop an understanding of breath physiology and the nervous system alongside practical skills in facilitation, trauma-informed practice, ethics, consent, boundaries, working with emotion and creating supportive spaces for others.

The course is not a specialist breath science or functional breathing practitioner qualification, nor does it train you to diagnose or treat breathing dysfunction or work as a trauma therapist. Understanding your scope — including when something sits outside it — is part of becoming a responsible facilitator.

Successful completion is subject to meeting the course requirements, including attendance, required reading, practice, case studies and assessment. The training is accredited by the Complementary Medical Association.

YOUR APPLICATION

Take your time.

There are no right answers. We’re simply interested in getting to know you, what brings you to the work, and whether the training feels like the right fit.
